指令性语言与面子:跨文化的言语行为得体策略研究

指令性语言可以从整体上视为一个以“极端谦逊”和“极端强势”为两极的连续体。作为跨文化交际行为中一类言语行为,英语本族语者和非本族语者之间在指令性语言的交际中易产生语用失败,随之,不恰当的选择指令性语言连续体中的表达形式会导致面子在无意识中受到威胁,因为缺乏共同的认知和文化背景。通过对指令性语言及其对应的面子关系的分析和探讨,本文将分别从一定细节和总体上提出编码得体指令性语言的策略。

Directives and Face: A Cross-Cultural Study of Speech Act Felicity Strategies

This paper argues that directives can be,as a whole,considered a continuum with "very modest attempts" and "very fierce attempts" as its two ends and as one category of speech acts in communications between native and non-native English speakers are prone to result in pragmatic failure,consequently face-threatening due to improper chosen form from the continuum.And thus based on the analysis of directives and their corresponding relationships with face,the paper will offer strategies both in detail and in general respectively for encoding felicitous directives as well.
