Abstract: | This wasn't as big a year as it could have been for Hilary Clinton. She started it with a decent shot at being the first female President in American history, but that dream fell apart when Barack Obama's highly organized, grassroots-funded campaign, combined with his own personal charisma, demolished her chances in the Democratic primaries. Perceptions that Hilary saw herself as 'entitled' to the Presidency, along with the reluctance of Americans to have a succession of Bush-Clinton- Bush-Clinton for twenty years, helped wreck her chances. She threw herself-and her husband-behind Obama's Presidential campaign, however, behaving with great grace - a trait not shown by some of her supporters. |
