Abstract: | This study compared the scores of Native American and Anglo American preschoolers on the Primary Self-Concept Inventory, a self-report measure of self-concept. Fifty-eight preschoolers between the ages of 4-0 and 5-11 participated. Analysis of the variance revealed no overall significant difference between self-concept scores; however, mean scores on the variable of Personal-Self were significantly higher for Native American preschoolers. Lack of overall difference might have been attributable to similar educational, regional, and socioeconomic factors. |
