新世纪中篇小说:作为一种文体之可能

新时期以来的中篇小说已取得骄人的成绩：创作数量持续增长，创作质量逐步提高，作品影响日益扩大。虽然，因为受到当前文化产业机制等方面的影响，新世纪以来中篇小说的发展受到了一些影响，但在与时代精神的联系上，在本身的艺术品质上，在结构、篇幅与人们审美习惯、阅读期待、时间利用相适应的程度上，中篇小说具有不可替代的优势，它仍具有成为新世纪文学代表文体的可能性。

Novelette in the New Century: The Possibility as a Literature Style

The novelette, since the very recent period, has made remarkable progresses: The amount of works keeps growing; their quality has been rising; and those works are of more affection today. Though compared with the apparent growing trend of novels, novelette has less advantage in developing, but it still has undeniable advantage such as the spirit of times, the artistic nature of novelette equals and adjusts the formation, the arrangement for time and the way of appreciation. In short, novelette still has the possibility to become a leading literature style nowadays.
