| 摘 要： | 美国的教育一直有实用主义的倾向。随着中国综合实力增强,中美关系成为全球最重要的双边关系之一,汉语在美国也逐渐成为炙手可热的"关键语言"。文章通过考察美国学校体系、政府机构、各民间组织对汉语学习的政策和措施,分析华文教育在美国的现状及其对全球化背景下教育与文化交流所起的作用,并以此为个案管窥美国教育在政策制定、教学改革和教育合作等方面的总体特征。
