| Abstract: | The place name ＂yina＂ is a transliteration of the Yi language. Rather, it is the modulated sound of the Hmong expression ＂ na＂ whose original meaning is ＂rice＂. ＂yina＂, as a linguistic fossil, bears testimony to the westward spread of rice culture, and is loaded with the most primitive information of the ancient kingdom of ＂Yelang＂. |
