从“差序格局”看中国人宽容精神的缺失

在“差序格局”中，每个人都以自我为中心形成一个圈子。在这个圈子中，人与人之间存在着亲疏远近的等级差别。“差序格局”的特点就决定了中国传统的社会结构缺乏不同意见的表达机制，因而，它在本质上是不宽容的。在这种不宽容的长期压抑之下，恐惧之心使我们完全丧失了表达不同意见的勇气，这严重制约着我们的民主进程。由此可见，中国传统社会在本质上与民主是不相容的。

On the Absence of Tolerance in China from the Perspective of the Pattern of Different Sequences

In China, everyone has an interpersonal circle in which he is dominated under the influence of the pattern of different sequences. So it is the grade difference between people that determinates their relationships. In such a society, there is no mechanism for people to express opposing opinions, because this traditional social structure in China is intolerant essentially. Under the long-term pressure of intolerance, we have no courage to say ＂no＂. This restricts the democratic process of China. So we can say, the traditional Chinese society is incompatible with democracy in nature.
