《淮南子》社会控制论初探

《淮南子》一书中在社会控制方面进行了广泛而深入的探讨。无为是《淮南子》的根本主张,就社会层面而言,其无为的概念有两方面的意义,一是现实社会控制的总原则,二是理想的社会控制状态。《淮南子》提到的社会控制的主要手段有仁义、礼乐、法、鬼神、舆论。《淮南子》认为,用礼、法作为控制社会的手段是不得已的办法。因为礼、法本身是有缺陷的,如果运用不当不仅起不到好的效果,反而会起到很坏的作用,事与愿违。在《淮南子》看来,仁、义是礼法能够实施的保障和前提和基础,没有仁作为内容,法只能徒具形式而不能真正长期有效地发生作用。仁不仅是普通人守礼,遵法的前提,更是统治者自我约束的内在保障。

Huai Nan Zi.pay close attention to the control of the society.The fundamental viewpoint is the theory of wuwei,that is nothing should be done by Govern.There are two meanings about the theory of wuwei in the Huai Nan Zi： one is general principles of social control;the other is the ideal state of social control.Huai Nan Zi.thinks that the main methods to control the society are benevolence and righteousness,rites and music,laws,ghosts and gods,and the public opinion.Huai Nan Zi.Thinks that the rites and laws of methods to control the society is necessary measures.Because the ritual,law itself is defective,if used improperly,it will have not good effect but very bad effect.Huai Nan Zi.Thinks that the valid means must be the combination of the rite and music,law together with benevolence and righteousnes,otherwise can rise adverse effect.Huai Nan Zi.Thinks that benevolence and righteousness is the foundation of rites and laws.the rites and laws of will not play true long-term effective functions.benevolence and righteousness is not only the guarantee fo the people obey rites and laws,but It is also the inner self constraint of the ruler.
