Thirty Years of War and British Politics

From the late Middle Ages,with the rise of Parliament,the British kings of any age mostly followed the following principle: foreign war must be supported by Parliament,otherwise the war will inevitably lead to the dramatic turmoil of the political situation.However,Charlie I didn't follow this principle.During 30 years of war,he implemented a series of dictatorial measures,which has a fierce collision with British long history of traditions of democracy and the rule of law.As a result,the political situation was deteriorated rapidly.
