SOME PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF LEARNING IN THE DISADVANTAGED

ollowing is a transcript of a press conference held March 19, 7969, by Dr. Kenneth B. Clark, President, Metropolitan Applied Research Center, and Mr. Aryeh Neier, Executive Director, New York Civil Liberties Union after some 670 New York students, mostly black and Puerto Rican were forced out of high school without their own or parental consent. The MARC staff alleged that the ouster of the 670 from Franklin K. Lane High School was in response “to pressure from the school's chapter of the United Federation of Teachers.”
