| Abstract: | After the Zhennanguan victory in Sino - French War （ 1883 - 1885）, Su Yuanchun, as the chief commander and the superintendent of frontier defense of Guangxi, exerted vigorous efforts to explore the borderland and promote the economic and cultural development as the response to the central government＇s call for grand national defense construction. In this paper, with Longzhou as the object, the author intends to study Su＇s contribution to the frontier defense. |
