Abstract:[Purpose/significance]The paper is to integrate traditional cultural elements into modern product design improve the utilization rate of tacit cultural knowledge shorten the reasoning process of knowledge reuse and accurately convey cultural connotation.[Method/process]The paper analyzes the design process of cultural and creative products from the perspective of user needs establishes the mapping relationship between aesthetic functional emotional needs and intangible cultural heritage products and makes structural classification of intangible cultural Heritage.Then it uses skeleton method to construct knowledge ontology and uses protégéto store ontology which completes the key problems of knowledge representation and knowledge retrieval in the design of culture-oriented creative products and finally constructs the management system of intangible cultural resources.[Result/conclusion]Ontology-based knowledge modeling of intangible cultural heritage reduces the reasoning process of designers’knowledge and improves the accuracy of product design cultural connotation expression.
