论中国现代个人主义的民族特征

西方社会实行个人本位主义,中国传统社会则奉行家族本位主义,这是中西社会在立国基础上的重大差别。辛亥革命之后开始的新文化运动,运用西方以个人本位主义为核心的价值观念,对中国传统的家族本位观念进行了激烈的批判。但是,中国现代的个人主义仍然是脆弱的,具有鲜明的群体性。

The Chinese Characteristics of the Modern Chinese Individualism

While the western society carries out individualism,the Chinese traditional society has been carrying out the patriarchal system.This is the major difference between western and eastern societies.The New Cultural Movement,beginning after the 1911 Revolution,launched a heavy assault on the Chinese traditional patriarchal system with the western value idea at the core of individualism.However,the Chinese modern individualism is still fragile,and has the obvious collective character.
