论19世纪中期拉丁美洲的契约华工--以古巴为例

19世纪中叶以后,成千上万的中国人被西方殖民者以"契约华工"的形式拐骗贩卖到拉丁美洲殖民地,开发当地经济.在那里,他们受到非人的虐待,过着牛马不如的生活,处于社会的最底层.少数的华工获得自由后,在当地人民的同情和帮助下,生存发展,自立创业,为拉丁美洲的经济开发做出了贡献.

The Chinese Contract Bondage in Latin- America in the Mid- 19th Century

From mid-19th century, thousands of Chinese, called Chinese Contract Bondage, were sent to the colonies of western capitalist countries in Latin-America as working labor to serve for local development. As investigated from large amounts of historical documents their working conditions, they were classified as the lowest level of the society and often suffered tremendous abuse by their employers. However, some of them, after achieving freedom, made their Living by working for themselves under the help from local citizens, and contributed to create opportunities for ecouomic development. This article, given Cuba as an example, explores the living conditions, situation and its change of Chinese Contract Bondage during that certain period in Latin-America.
