对文学教育功能的重新审视

对教育功能的重视是中国文学的传统，这种传统在极左思潮泛滥的时期被强调到极致，文学因而沦为政治教化的附庸和工具。新时期文学拨乱反正，却又出现矫枉过正的现象，一些作家和批评家忽视甚至排斥文学的教育功能。需要对文学的教育功能进行重新审视。文学的审美功能固然重要，但它却不能脱离认识和教育功能而存在；文学的教育功能不是游离于审美功能之外，而是寓于审美功能之中；文学的审美和教育功能不是简单机械的相加，而是互相依存、互相渗透的“有机整体”。

Re-examination to the Educational Function of Literature

In China,it has been a consistent tradition to attach much importance to the educational function of literature.Too much emphasis has been unsuitably placed upon this tradition when the ideological trends of the extreme Left-deviation were running rampant,and therefore literature sank to be a tool of, or more seriously,an appendage to the political education.Order was gradually set out of chaos from the beginning of the new era,and the over-correction in literature occurred unexpectedly,and some writers and critics even began to reject the educational function of literature,the re-examination to which now seemesd to be necessary.Though the aesthetic function of literature is quite important,it cannot exist without the cognitional and educational function,and the latter does not drift away from but is contained in the former,and the both have been independently combined into an organic whole,which repels the mechanical addition.
