图式理论与法律英语教学

摘    要:传统的通用英语教学已不能满足培养涉外法律专业人才语言提高的需求。文章通过对图式理论的阐述,说明影响法律英语教学的两个主要方面,即语言图式和内容图式。语言图式是指学习者的词汇、语法和句型等语言基础知识;内容图式主要指关于文章内容的背景知识。

Abstract:With the entry of WTO of China,legal English has rapidly developed as a branch of ESP.However,the traditional general English teaching has already not met the needs of the improving English level of the legal workers for foreign affairs.By expatiating the schema theory,the paper tends to express the two effects that the schema theory has on the legal English teaching.That is to say,they are the language schemata and content schemata.Language schemata mean the basic knowledge of vocabulary,grammar and sentence structure;content schemata mean the background knowledge of the content.At the same time,we can realize that the theory is very important for legal English teaching.
