The Application of the Prototype Theory in Part-of Speech Analysis

Family resemblance is apparently embodied in the part-of-speech category,which belongs to the prototype category rather than the feature category.The clear and strict definitions of part-of-speech and the classification standards of it based on the classical approach to categorization is not properly.The inequality of member status and the ambiguity of category boundaries are two principles in prototype category theory,and they should be followed in order to define various parts-of-speech more comprehensively by means of the combina tion of strict and extensive standards.
