旅游文本中的文化缺省及其翻译中的连贯重构

文化缺省指的是同一文化背景的人在交际过程中对双方共有的文化背景知识的省略。旅游与文化紧密相连,很多旅游文本都负载着浓厚的中国文化气息,而这部分文化信息往往作为中国人共有的文化背景知识而省略了。由于文化背景不同,文化缺省的存在是妨碍跨语言跨文化交际的一大障碍。在翻译过程中,如何对这部分缺省文化进行补偿,以达到语篇的连贯,从而最终实现跨文化交际,对译者是一个极大的挑战。文章针对旅游文本的文化缺省现象提出了六大文化翻译策略。

Cultural Default and Coherence Reconstruction in the Translation of Tourism Texts

Cultural default is the absence of some cultural background knowledge shared by the people who have the same cultural background.Tourism is closely related to culture.Many Chinese tourism texts are loaded with profound Chinese culture,which is often omitted in the source texts as the common cultural background knowledge.Due to different cultural backgrounds,cultural default is a great obstacle in cross-lingual and cross-cultural communication.How to compensate the default culture in translation to achieve textual coherence and better cross-cultural communication is a challenge for the translator.To solve this problem,the paper tentatively puts forward six cultural translation methods.
