On Metalinguistic Features and Metapragmatic Functions of Address Forms

Interpersonal appellation is thought of as the main semiotic marker used for the orientation of roles in interpersonal relations.The address forms in appellative system are of metasemiotic features just like the primitives in an axiomatic system.It is because of its capacity of describing and analyzing some phenomena in interpersonal relations,in human cultures and in human speech acts that the address form holds the features of both metalanguage and metapragmatic function in nature.The study of these features of address forms may have some enlightment in further understanding the nature of appellative system itself and the nature of human language and the principles of language use as well.
