| 摘 要： | 甲午一战,中国惨败。在严重的民族危机跟前,时代呼唤新的媒介以唤醒国人实行变法图强,深受刺激的民族资产阶级也迫切需要通过舆论工具来表达自己的要求,满足自己参政的愿望;社会迫切需要新的媒介以疏通壅塞的社会风气与启迪民智。在这种背景下近代国人掀起了自办报刊的第一次高潮。

| Abstract: | China suffered crushing defeat in the Jiawu war and met with serious national crisis. At this time new media were called to awaken its people to carry out political reform to make the country strong. Greatly stimu- lated national bourgeoisie also had an urgent need for public opinion tools to express their demands and satisfy their desire to participate in government affairs. The society badly needed the new media to clear the congested so- cial atmosphere and to inspire people＇ s wit. So the first upsurge in modem times of newspaper running by Chinese themselves was started. |
