Abstract: | Among the standards most important to librarians and their clients are bibliographic standards, which focus on providing bibliographic data in machine-readable form to facilitate technical processing of acquisitions, cataloging, and sharing of these data among libraries. Beacher Wiggins discusses bibliographic standards in general and then focuses on the Cooperative Online Serials Program—CONSER—a cooperative program for bibliographic control that is now more than a decade old. |
