This paper introduces the concept of constructivism learning and teaching theory,constructivism believes that learning is an active process of construction,teaching goals are the development of the activity of students.Therefore,the constructivism emphasizes the comprehension of teaching,the activity with the subjects,the importance of constructing a teaching situation,and the new relationship between teachers and students.It provides a wide range of modes of teaching,advocates the innovative instructional design.On the basis of this theory,this essay discussed the impact of constructivism teaching theories on China’s current college English teaching.
