| Abstract: | Why is local protectionism difficult to be eliminated? Why is local protectionism deteriorated in some regions, sections and units? Based on the economics of the public sector, this essay tries to generalize the main characteristics of the economic behavior of the local government, and to show the inevitability of local protectionism, which is linked to the economic behavior of the local government in the market-oriented transformation. By analyzing the foundation of local protectionism, the authors have suggested some policies for getting over local protectionism. |
