从跟玉林话的比较中看秉塘话的系属

秉塘话与玉林话的声韵调大部分相似．秉塘话属于粤语，并具有勾漏片粤语的主要特点：古全浊声母今读塞音和塞擦音的，不分平仄，绝大部分都读不送气清音；定、精母读【t】，透、清母读【th】；心母读【θ】（玉林读【l】）。但受周边方言的影响，秉塘话具有与玉林话显著的不同之处：端母字次浊化；从、邪母读【θ】；假开三读【ia】：辅音韵尾只有【nt】和【 k】套。秉塘话是在客家话和桂北平话等影响下发生较大变异的勾漏粤语．

Classification of Bingtang Dialect with the comparison of Yulin Dialect

The consonants, vowels and tones of Bingtang dialect and Yulin dialect are substantially similar. Bingtang dialect belongs to Cantonese and possesses some features of the Goulou cluster of Cantonese： the ancient completely voiced initials are pronounced plosives or affricates now, regardless of its tonal or pattern tone, and most of them are pronounced unaspirated accent; the ancient ding（定）, jing（精） are pronounced t], the ancient tou（透）, qing（清） are pronounced th], and the ancient xin（心） is pronounced 0]（It is pronounced It] in Yulin dialect）. However, affected by the surrounding dialects, there are significant differences in pronunciation between Bingtang dialect and Yulin＇s： the phenomenon of ancient duan（端） turning into sub-voiced, the third deng of the open mouth syllable in Jia She（假开三） are pronounced ia]; the endings of the consonants are only pronounced n t] or x3 k]. Therefore Bingtang dialect belongs to the Goulou cluster of Cantonese which is at least influenced by Hakka dialect and the Pinghua of Northern Guangxi.
