| Abstract: | The reason for the dilemma of intercultural communication between China and the West consists in 1) deep- rooted ideological prejudices which lead to cross- cultural confrontation; 2) ‘pre- understandings’,name- ly the main cause of different interpretations of the same concept,which considerably squeeze the cross- cultural dialogical space; and 3) inequality in the right of speech,which makes cross- cultural‘dialogue’a total domina- tion of hegemonic discourse. |
