| Abstract: | During the period of the Republic oI China, the warlord Yan Xishan promoted the country management in Shanxi Province in order to carry out his new policies, one important part of which was the Withdrawing-Lawsuits Society. It was an institution that was used to settle the civil disputes between villagers and thus maintained the rural stability. |
