非竞技因素对运动员竞技能力的影响主要是从两方面进行，一方面影响着运动员现有竞技能力的临场发挥；另一方面影响着其竞技能力的提高。影响前者的外在因素主要有运动员对场地器材的熟悉程度，比赛的氛围和运动员的比赛经历。影响后者的外在因素主要有训练方法和手段、生活的竞技环境、环境对项目的认知以及高额的奖金因素。
