Evaluating Curriculum Changes in a Computing Service Course

During a major curriculum change in a computing service course the opportunity was taken to evaluate the effectiveness of the old and new courses in fulfilling the expectations of students enrolled in them. In neither case were the students' expectations completely realised, but the changed curriculum significantly improved the match between expectations and actual experience.
