Abstract: | This paper surveys some general issues related to simulation. Random number generation and the simulation of specific probability distributions are discussed. It is shown how statistical methods, especially graphical ones, can be used to analyze data from simulation experiments and to plan such experiments. Finally, the paper discusses how antithetic variables can be used in variance reduction. Throughout the paper the use of computers is considered. |
