| Abstract: | Economy is a vital element reflecting the change and development of the marital society.Through the study of the marital state and connotation of the characters and the married women＇s status in Shakespeare＇s comedies,this paper tends to reveal the influence of mercantilism policy toward the British marital society,which is a new angle to approach the contemporary social condition in Shakespeare＇s time. |
