| 摘 要： | 委婉语主要在言语交际中避俗求雅，它既是一种语言现象，又是一种社会心理现象。社会心理影响委婉语的产生和使用，而委婉语又反映这些社会心理。本文从宗教迷信、社会禁忌、社会美化心理及人类双重人格几个方面来分析委婉语的社会心理。

| Abstract: | The main function of Euphemisms is to avoid vulgarity and pursue refinement. They are phenomena of both language and society. The paper intends to analyse English euphemisms from four perspectives of religion and superstition, social taboo, social tendency of beautification and human double personality. |
