| Abstract: | A simple synthetic method of glutaraldehyde from glutaric acid via reductoin -hydrolysis reaction of 2,2'-(1,3-propanediyl)-bis-benzimidazole is reported.The influence of temperature and PH on the yield and the reduction-hydrolysis mechanism of 2,2-bis-benzimidazole are discussed. |
