| 摘 要： | 创刊于1861年的《上海新报》是近代来华的外国人在中国大陆创办出版的第一份中国报纸，并在长达10年的时间里雄踞上海及国内中文报纸之首。本文着重探讨了该报第4位主笔林乐知工作期间对它的版式及内容的革新，肯定了该报在传播科学知识，推进社会进步等方面的积极作用。

| Abstract: | Shang Hai New Daily, the first News paper in Chinese in presentdays, was started publication in 1861 by the foreigners came to China, and, in the following years, occupied the first place of Chinese newspaper in China. The essay studies the reforms by the fourth editorial, Lin Le-zhi, during his work, meanwhile, confirms the active role of the papers spreading science knowledge and promoting the Society. |
