“不折腾”英译的认知理据

理想化认知模型（ICM）是人类组织和表征关于世界知识的一种认知结构,能有效地解释人类范畴结构的原型效应,即自然语言中的多义现象。运用ICM理论,从＂不折腾＂的原型意义、以心智意象为认知参照的隐喻意义以及文化态势三个方面分析＂不折腾＂的现有不同英译,认为国学大师、翻译家季羡林先生的译法和按文化植入模式进行翻译具有较为恰当的认知理据。

The Cognitive Motivation of bu zheteng's English Translation

Idealized Cognitive Model（ICM）,a cognitive structure with which to organize and represent the world knowledge,can be applied to effectively interpret the prototype effect of categories,i.e.the polysemy of natural language.In adoption of ICM theory,this paper analyzes bu zheteng′s prototype meaning,metaphorical meanings with the mental images as a cognitive reference,and the cultural encountering.Based on that,this paper discusses the cognitive motivation of the existing English versions of bu zheteng,and the conclusion is that the version by Ji Xianlin,the famous translator and master of Chinese culture,and the one under the Go-ahead model bear proper cognitive motivation.
