| Abstract: | This paper characterizes the minimal ideals of finite dimensional quadratic Lie algebras over the complex field and gives an optimistic lower bound for the dimension of the space of invariant symmetric bilinear forms on a quadratic Lie algebra by means of the number of linearly independent minimal ideals. |
