| Abstract: | This paper analyzes the pragmatic differences between English and Chinese address terms from the angle of pragmatics through contrastive studies and suggests that the translation of the address terms should take the three factors such as cultural differences, context and relationship between the participants into account in order to achieve functional equivalence. |
