Features in Different Learning Stages and Its Influence on Foreign Language Teaching

Age is the variable that has been most frequently considered in study of individual differences in foreign language learning. This paper reviews the development of the Critical Period Hypothesis and puts forward different features during different language learning stages. Furthermore, it proposes that to attain the best learning effect, in foreign language teaching we should, according to different features in every stage, implement distinct teaching strategies, develop relevant teaching objectives and adopt corresponding teaching methods.
