On Expression Function of Semantic Presupposition

From the viewpoint of logic semantics and the innate character of semantic presupposition, the article gives a comparatively complete and systematic exploration of the expression function of the semantic presupposition. Semantic presupposition provides basic rules for the organization and extension of the sentences and language segment. By using semantic presupposition, we can have a brief, natural, and implied expression, enhance the credibility of the discourse content, express those meanings which can not be expressed directly and gain those information which can not be gained. It can also help us get rid of the communication embarrassment, achieve a successful social communication, create aesthetic objects and construct the development of the literature discourse.
