Thoroughly Implementing the Spirit of the 18th CPC National Congress to Promote Ecological Civilization Construction to a New Level in Suzhou

Substantially strengthening the construction of ecological civilization is a highly specific and major strate-gic task of the“five one”overall layout of socialism with Chinese characteristics defined by the 18th CPC National Congress. It is an urgent requirement to meet the people’s higher expectations when the economic and social devel-opment is enhanced to a certain stage in Suzhou. It is also an important guarantee for Suzhou’s taking the lead in realizing the basic modernization and its being ranked in the forefront of the province and the whole country as well. In the new stage of development, Suzhou should accelerate its efforts to form a comprehensive transformation, upgrade ecological civilization and industry, harmonize urban and rural development, seize the major engineering construction, grasp the key link, promote the level of the construction of ecological civilization, achieve a signifi-cant breakthrough in the construction of ecological civilization, strengthen the institutional innovation, strive to build a long-term mechanism of ecological civilization construction, actively promote the concept of environmental protection, and strive to create a good atmosphere of co-construction and sharing of ecological civilization.
