漫谈英文的得体运用

英文作为一种和世界沟通的媒介 ,越来越受到人们的重视 ,我们对英文的关注 ,不应该还停留在语法、句子、发音、流利程度等浅层次上 ,只有学会在不同的场合得体地运用英文 ,我们才能说掌握了它。英文的语体基本分为正式体和非正式体 ,详细点还可划分成演说体、正式体、商议体、随意体和亲昵体五种。何时用何种语体 ,要从谈话的场景、主题、谈话的人几个方面来考虑。正式体和非正式体在语法和句法上有一定的区别。此外 ,我们还要特别注意不要滥用俚语和禁忌语。

On Appropriate Use of English

English, as a global medium of communication, is gaining more and more importance in China. So our concern for English should not be merely laid on true grammar, correct pronunciation and fluent sentence, but also on appropriate usage of English in specific situations. Basically speaking, we have formal and informal style in English, which can be divided into five groups: Frozen, Formal, Consultative, Casual and Intimate. Appropriate use of varieties should be based on several aspects, such as settings, the subject, the persons involved and so on. Furthermore, the difference in syntax between formal and informal styles and the peculiar usage of slang and taboos should be taken into consideration.
