摘    要:如何有效提高大学生英语口语能力,是目前大学英语教育亟待解决的一个重大现实问题。要有效解决这个问题,关键是教师与学生要在英语的教学与英语的学习过程中,充分运用元认知理论来指导英语的教与学。一是必须强化或提高大学生英语口语学习的元认知能力,这是提高大学生英语口语能力的内在途径;二是教师在口语教学中应充分运用元认知理论,为大学生口语能力的提高营造一个良好的外部环境。
