论笛卡尔关于数学真理的有神论基础

摘    要:笛卡尔把"我思"中蕴含的"清楚分明的知觉"看作真理的标准。然而"我思"具有局限性,这种局限性使得一个复杂的数学真理的证明必须在多个"我思"中展开,这意味着人们必须确证对中间结论的回忆为真。对于笛卡尔而言,这种确证是由上帝的良善保证的,因而笛卡尔认为数学真理与对上帝的信仰是不可分的。通过区分数学真理与对数学真理的回忆,笛卡尔能够规避循环论证的指责。然而,本文认为虽然有神论能够为"上帝的记忆功能"添加一层心理的确信,但是上帝的独立存在性意味着他的"记忆功能"对于无神论者也同样是成立的。

On the Theistic Basis of Descartes' View of Mathematical Truth

Abstract:According to Descartes,the standard of truth lies in that kind of perception which has the characteristic of clearness and distinctness.However,there is a limit to what a subject can consciously fathom at any given moment,which renders that any complex mathematical reasoning cannot be dealt with in only one Cogito.This fact demands that the recollection of the middle conclusion must be true,which is confirmed by God's benevolence in Descartes' opinion.Accordingly,Descartes concludes that mathematics and belief in God must go hand in hand.However,the paper argue that,while theism adds a layer of psychological reassurance,the mind-independent reality of God would ensure the preservation of past demonstrations for atheists as well.
