Abstract: | The southern part of China is one of the most important area of the taxes during the Ming dynasty.The high taxes there had existed for a long time since the begining of the Ming.It had many passive effects on the politics and finance,especially on the social economics, production and living of the Ming.Appointed governor of the region,aiming at solving the high taxes with the principle of benefiting the people but not damaging the government,Zhou Chen,a native of JiangXi province,carried out regional burden reducing movement as reformation of taxes and services. |
