Discussion on the Development and Importance of Separation-individuation

Since Mahler proposed separation-individuation theory of child psychology, increasing importance has been attached to it by development and education researchers, then some scholars point out that young people also have the so-called separation-individua- tion phase. Actually separation-individual is constantly needed to be faced in the development of individual life, and has a profound in- fluence on the development of individuals. This paper starts with the concept and theory of separation-individuation, and investigates the importance of the adolescent＇s separation-individuation and its influence on individual development.
