Meeting of Minds: An Account of the History,Development and Work of the Forum for Interlending

ABSTRACT

Based in the UK, the Forum for Interlending is an organisation set up specifically for Interlibrary Loan and Document Supply practitioners. It was founded in 1988 and has developed into a significant player in the UK ILL and DD world. Despite membership being largely drawn from UK institutions, FIL has worked to establish links with many individuals and organisations overseas and one of its stated aims for this year is to seek members outside Europe. To this end FIL is represented on IFLA and distributed promotional material at the 1999 IFLA conference held in Bangkok.
