The Case for Acquiring and Accessing Electronic Journals in Libraries
Abstract:This paper provides arguments why libraries should make available both free and fee-based electronic serials and why it is imperative that they move quickly. It features discussions of the costs of acquiring and storing materials, customer services, and the future of libraries. Incorporated are strategies for assuring that libraries will continue to play an important role in the distribution of information into the next millennium.
