Collection Management in British Children's Literature-A Report of Five Case Studies

In order to gain insight into the collection management of children's books by British public library services, five case studies were undertaken in 1989. These studies uncovered a diversity of procedures but no comprehensive provision of collection management policies. Reasons for compromising on the ideal were found to be related to inadequate staffing rather than to a lack of concern.
