A PERFORMANCE EVALUATION MODEL FOR MULTIMEDIA LABORATORIES
Authors:Robert W Klemm
Institution:Southern Illinois University
Abstract:A multimedia approach, coupled with an evaluation process, has provided the foundation for curriculum flexibility, competency evaluation, and increased student performance in the associate degree electronics technology program at the School of Technical Careers, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois, The process model provides the needed latitude for rapid adaptation of course material. It allows for three avenues of information gathering by the student within the laboratory setting and also adds the valuable evaluation component. The evaluation technique inter‐correlates the cognitive and psychomotor domains. This intercorrelation allows for assessment of task performance at the time the task is being accomplished, thus improving on the pretest‐posttest method of competency attainment evaluation.
