| Abstract: | The inaugural address is a special form of communication,the contextual elements of which directly determines the language style of its speaker,the new president.The 44th American president,Obama appropriately employed some pragmatic strategies which are in accordance with the context,and successfully achieved his purpose of communication.Owing to his appropriate and highly rhetorical language,his speech ranks among the classic inaugural address. |
