| Abstract: | The mentality of the literates of the late Ming Dynasty reflects their complicated and contradictory dual characters. To put it briefly, the spirit of individuality liberating and dissoluteness conflicts with the rigidity of BaGu very fiercely. In order to make a living, they had no other choices. The contradiction between desert and indulgence in woman and song, and the contradiction between dissoluteness and depression always appear in their essays. |
